The Peace Studies Certificate requires the completion of fifteen hours of approved courses, at least 9 of which must be upper division hours.
The one required course is PSCI 3500 - Introduction to Peace Studies.
Beyond this, students must complete at least one course from each of three areas in the Peace Studies Minor:
- Determinants of Violence,
- Conflict Resolution
- Issues of Justice.
Students can also use three hours of internship credit towards the Certificate.
Students can count towards the Peace Studies Certificate courses that also count towards the fulfillment of other graduate requirements (e.g., General Education requirements and courses in your major). For Political Science majors who have International Relations and/or Comparative Politics among their concentration areas, this means that some of the courses for your PSCI major can also count towards this Certificate.
